String-Dust Distributions with the Kerr-NUT symmetry

    Get PDF
We attempt to solve the Einstein equations for string dust and null flowing radiation for the general axially symmetric metric, which we believe is being done for the first time. We obtain the string-dust and radiating generalizations of the Kerr and the NUT solutions. There also occurs an interesting case of radiating string-dust which arises from string-dust generalization of Vaidya's solution of a radiating star.Comment: 15 pages, TeX version. tex error correcte

Study of Parasite Hosts of the Genus Cuscuta and its Traditional Uses in Planpur Taluka, Gujarat, India

    Get PDF
Cuscuta is a parasitic plant belonging to family Cuscutaceae. The present paper is an investigation of its various host plant species and its traditional uses in Palanpur Taluka of North Gujarat during 2005-2008. Two species of Cuscuta occur in the Palanpur Taluka. The preservation and documentation of traditional knowledge is a matter of prime importance. This will not only provide recognition of this knowledge but will also help in conservation of such gradually vanishing endangered semi/arid plant species. The present paper provide ethnomedicinal information of 2 species of Cuscuta. For each plant species listed, the botanical name, family, vernacular name, part used, uses/ailments treated, preparations/administrations, use (%) and locality are given

Global monopole as dual-vacuum solution in Kaluza-Klein spacetime

    Get PDF
By application of the duality transformation, which implies interchange of active and passive electric parts of the Riemann curvature (equivalent to interchange of Ricci and Einstein tensors) it is shown that the global monopole solution in the Kaluza-Klein spacetime is dual to the corresponding vacuum solution. Further we also obtain solution dual to flat space which would in general describe a massive global monopole in 4-dimensional Euclidean space and would have massless limit analogus to the 4-dimensional dual-flat solution.Comment: 8 pages, LaTEX versio

Ethno-medicinal Plants used for Amenorrhoea and Abnormal Menstruation Diseases in Danta Taluka (Gujarat)

    Get PDF
The present paper deals with species of flowering plants commonly used by different Adivasi communities to cure amenorrhoea and abnormal menstruation diseases and disorder. The cause of disease, its symptoms, and plant organs utilized and methods of preparation of remedies are provided. Tribes associated with specific remedial preparation have been mentioned, however, they may not be always exclusive since Adivasi communities are widely distribution in Danta Taluka and have considered communication with each other. It is hoped that the present study will not only confirm earlier findings recorded in literature, but also provide additional clues in this fields of vital interests. The Danta taluka is situated between 24° - 24’’ to 24° - 30’’ N latitudes and between 72° - 45’’ to 73° - 30’’ E longitudes. In the north it is bounded by Rajasthan State, in the south by the Mahesana District, in the east by the Sabarkantha district and in the west by Palanpur and Vadgam taluka. The total area of the Danta taluka is 86074.75 sq.km. Danta taluka has 187 villages and forest area of 47941.97 hectare. Tribals in Danta taluka mainly cast Adivasi which sub-tribes are Bumbadiya, Bhemiyat, Dabhi, Dhrangi, Gamar, Kodarvi, Laur, Makvana, Parghi, Parmar, Rohisa, Solanki and Taral are main tribal group inhabiting this area

Singularity Free Inhomogeneous Models with Heat Flow

We present a class of singularity free exact cosmological solutions of Einstein's equations describing a perfect fluid with heat flow. It is obtained as generalization of the Senovilla class [1] corresponding to incoherent radiation field. The spacetime is cylindrically symmetric and globally regular.Comment: 6 pages, TeX, to appear in Class.Quant.Gra

The present paper deals with species of flowering plants commonly used by different Aadeevasee communities to cure gonorrhoea diseases. The cause of disease, its symptoms, and plant organs utilized and methods of preparation of remedies are provided. Tribes associated with specific remedial preparation have been mentioned, however, they may not be always exclusive since Adeevasee communities are of wide distribution in Danta taluka and have considered communication with each other. It is hoped that the present study will not only confirm earlier findings recorded in literature, but also provide additional clues in this field of vital interests
